SurfACE™ Sponge-Stick in Twirl-Tie™ Bag
Product Description
The SurfACE™ Sponge-Stick in Twirl-Tie™ Bag is a sterile environmental surface sampling device designed for microbiological monitoring in food production, beverage processing, and hygienic manufacturing environments.
Each sampling device features a 3″ × 1.5″ biocide-free cellulose sponge attached to a quick-release handle that allows hygienic sampling without direct hand contact. The integrated thumb stop helps prevent accidental contact with the sponge during sampling, improving reliability and operator safety.
The sponge-stick design makes it especially suitable for hard-to-reach sampling locations such as drains, pipes, narrow gaps, equipment frames, and processing lines where traditional swabs may be difficult to use.
SurfACE™ Sponge-Stick devices are supplied dry or pre-moistened with 10 mL of buffer, allowing technicians to select the appropriate neutralizing or recovery solution depending on the environmental monitoring protocol.
Each unit is individually packed in a sterile Twirl-Tie™ sampling bag with easy-open pull tabs and a dedicated labeling area to ensure secure transport and clear sample identification prior to laboratory analysis.

Role in Environmental Monitoring Programs
Environmental surface monitoring helps food manufacturers detect microbial contamination risks before they impact finished products.
When used together with microbiological diagnostic systems from partners such as Romer Labs and Liofilchem, SurfACE™ sampling devices support comprehensive environmental monitoring programs that help verify sanitation effectiveness, support HACCP validation, and maintain regulatory compliance.
