Hydrosense PRO Ultra Legionella Water Test

Hydrosense PRO Ultra Legionella Water Test

6,820.00 ฿

The world’s fastest on-site Legionella test. Detects all Legionella pneumophila serogroups 1–15 at 100 CFU/L sensitivity in 25 minutes. No laboratory. No training required. Single-use water test for hotels, hospitals, cooling towers, and any water system where risk cannot wait for a lab report.

The Hydrosense PRO Ultra Legionella water test is available in Thailand through BCST, delivering on-site detection of Legionella pneumophila serogroups 1–15 at 100 CFU/L sensitivity in 25 minutes. No laboratory infrastructure, no specialist training, and no waiting period are required.

Legionella Water Test — What The PRO Ultra Does

The Hydrosense PRO Ultra Legionella Water Test detects Legionella pneumophila serogroups 1 through 15 directly from a water sample collected on-site. Results are delivered in 25 minutes using Lateral Flow Immunochromatographic Assay technology — the same technology platform used in COVID-19 and pregnancy rapid tests. No laboratory infrastructure, no specialist training, and no waiting period are required.

Legionella pneumophila is the bacterium responsible for Legionnaires’ disease, a potentially fatal pneumonia with a community fatality rate of approximately 10% and up to 25% in healthcare settings. Serogroups 1–15 account for over 97% of confirmed Legionnaires’ disease cases globally. The PRO Ultra range is the only Hydrosense product that detects all 15 serogroups simultaneously — making it the comprehensive choice for facilities where full-spectrum risk assessment is required.

Three-Line Test — Serogroup Differentiation

Unlike single-line tests, the PRO Ultra uses a three-line format:

  • A result at the 1 line indicates serogroup 1 detected at ≥100 CFU/L
  • A result at the 2 line indicates serogroups 2–15 detected at ≥100 CFU/L
  • The C line confirms the test has functioned correctly

This distinction matters operationally. Serogroup 1 is responsible for the majority of severe Legionnaires’ disease cases and triggers specific remediation protocols in most regulatory frameworks. Knowing which serogroup is present informs both the urgency and the nature of the response.

Sensitivity and Action Levels

The test detects Legionella pneumophila at:

  • 100 CFU/L — primary detection threshold (250ml sample)
  • 1,000 CFU/L — first action level
  • 10,000 CFU/L — second action level (Hazard Index)

The 100 CFU/L sensitivity is among the highest available for any rapid on-site Legionella test. This level of sensitivity is critical for facilities operating under strict water safety management programmes or in jurisdictions with low regulatory action thresholds.

VBNC Detection — A Capability Standard Laboratory Culture Cannot Match

Viable but Non-Culturable (VBNC) Legionella are bacteria that are alive and capable of causing infection but do not grow on standard culture media. Traditional laboratory culture methods produce false negatives for VBNC bacteria. The Hydrosense PRO Ultra detects VBNC Legionella — providing a more accurate picture of actual risk than culture-based testing alone.

Performance Characteristics

  • No interference from other common waterborne bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, E. coli, Aeromonas hydrophila, and non-pneumophila Legionella species
  • Performs reliably in hard water and high alkalinity conditions
  • Robust results under varying environmental conditions

Who Should Use This Test

The Hydrosense PRO Ultra Water Test is designed for any facility where Legionella risk management is a legal, operational, or reputational priority:

Hotels and hospitality venues — Hotels are statistically the most common setting for Legionnaires’ disease infection. Aerosol-generating systems including showers, spas, pools, and decorative fountains represent persistent exposure risk for guests.

Hospitals and healthcare facilities — Patients with compromised immune systems face significantly elevated fatality risk from Legionnaires’ disease. Complex water systems in healthcare buildings require rigorous, frequent monitoring.

Commercial buildings and cooling towers — Building operators managing cooling towers, large hot and cold water networks, and air conditioning systems with water components have both regulatory and duty-of-care obligations.

Industrial facilities — Remote locations, oil platforms, and manufacturing sites where laboratory turnaround times make culture-based testing impractical benefit most from on-site rapid detection.

Important Note

This test is designed for environmental water testing only. It is not a diagnostic test for human patients. A positive result should trigger immediate consultation with a qualified water safety professional and initiation of your facility’s water management response protocol.
