The Hydrosense ONE Multi Legionella Water Test detects Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 at a sensitivity of 1,000 CFU/L, with a Hazard Index level confirmed at 10,000 CFU/L. It uses Lateral Flow Immunochromatographic Assay technology to deliver results in 25 minutes on-site from a 100ml water sample. No laboratory or specialist training is required.

When To Choose The Multi Over The Ultra

The ONE Multi is designed for water management programmes where regulatory guidelines or internal protocols set action thresholds at 1,000 CFU/L — the standard action level in many international and regional frameworks including several European guidelines. Where an action level of 100 CFU/L applies, the ONE Ultra is recommended instead.

The Multi is also the more cost-efficient option for high-frequency monitoring programmes in lower-risk settings where the 100 CFU/L sensitivity of the Ultra is not required by the applicable standard.

The Hazard Index — A Quantitative Risk Signal

The ONE Multi includes a visual Hazard Index score card that provides a semi-quantified result beyond a simple positive or negative. The Hazard Index indicates whether the detected Legionella level is at 1,000 CFU/L or at the higher 10,000 CFU/L threshold — giving facility managers a risk severity indicator that supports proportionate response decisions. A 10,000 CFU/L result requires more urgent remediation than a 1,000 CFU/L result — the Hazard Index makes this distinction visible in the field, immediately.
